The Turkish-German University was established in Istanbul in 2010 as the eighth state university. Aiming to be a research university, it opened its doors to students for the 2013-2014 academic year, starting its educational journey as a multilingual institution.

Hagia Sophia Museum

Among the most important works in the history of the world architecture, Hagia Sophia is a world wonder in terms of its architecture, its display, its splendor and its magnificence. It is the largest church of the Eastern Roman Empire built in Istanbul.

Galata Tower

When Istanbul is mentioned, one of the places that comes to mind is the Galata Tower. Galata is one of the most magnificent areas of Istanbul, which has many historical areas, were home  to civilizations and were made wars for. Galata Tower, which the Genoese named Gesus Tower, has taken its name from the Greek word “ gala”, which means milk.

Çırağan Palace

Çırağan Palace, built by Ottoman Sovereign Sultan Abdülaziz, is also known as Beşiktaş Palace due to its location. In this palace, which has a magnificent and majestic structure, proms, weddings and parties are organized.

Yerebatan Sarnıcı (Basilica Cistern)

The cistern built during the Byzantine period was an area where Emperors resided and local people used as water reservoirs. Its real name is Basilica Cistern.  It is a historic building with traces of eastern Rome.
