Galata University is new so it's understandable to make some mistakes here and there, but they managed to not do anything right. I attended in 2022 as an international student and was definitely expecting better service that was advertised, versus what the school actually was. There were multiple issues: 1. International office is barely any help to foreign students. 2. Student affairs office lady in charge is consistently rude and thinks she is in charge of everything. 3. International students were scheduled to take a surprise english exam at the end of September, it moved to beginning of October. But the rest of the school had already started classes two weeks prior. The international students had no choice but to wait for this english exam and then try to catch up in their classes as best as possible. 4. I wasn't even given a choice in the classes I was taking. Half of my classes were online, which I was told I'd have 100% english face to face classes. Then they didn't even give the international students 100% english like I chose on the website when applying. 5. As students who spoke little to no Turkish, choosing 100% english because of that, we were all shocked when we were given 3 FULLY Turkish online classes. 6. No cohesive campus for this school. The classes are in buildings that are spread throughout Sishane, and then a big building in Piyalepasa that you have to take a shuttle to get there. Thankfully I dropped out without even completing the semester and went back to my home country. If you are a Turkish student then maybe this school could be tolerable for you. But for international students, all it is, is a headache and waste of your time and money. I absolutely loved Istanbul, but I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this school.

They are pathetic and extremely irresponsible. The international coordinator thinks she rules the university and world revolves around her. After I sent them deposit I stopped getting replies to my queries. When my visa rejected I sent her so many emails regarding my deposit refund because of visa rejection or help me send new letter to apply visa again. After a dozen of emails I still received no help or reply from this university. It’s been a month but they decided to not reply me back. They are only eating our money and getting away with it. Be careful before you apply to this university they don’t have strong educational ties and the embassy may not consider you granted visa to this university.
