The roots of Boğaziçi University date back to 1863 and are based on Robert College, founded by Dr. Cyrus Hamlin and Mr. Christopher Rheinlander Robert. Since 1971, it has transformed into Boğaziçi University, preserving the educational tradition of the College and maintaining English as the medium of instruction, becoming a distinguished Turkish public research university.
