İzmir Institute of Technology (IYTE) is a state university established in 1992. This institute primarily aims to provide high-level education, teaching, and research, especially in the field of technology. IYTE, where the language of instruction is English, is the only high technology institute in Turkey that serves as a model for advanced technical university models worldwide. The postgraduate programs started in 1994, and the undergraduate programs began in 1998.
Operating in the city center of İzmir until 1999, IYTE has since gradually moved to its campus in Urla-Gülbahçe, which covers approximately 3500 hectares. The campus, with 132,000 m² of indoor space, hosts educational, teaching, and research activities and is continuously developing.
Locally known as “İYTE,” the institute is internationally recognized as “IZTECH.” Its educational and research activities are conducted in accordance with international standards. The institute aims to ensure that students are investigative, creative, entrepreneurial, and successful in teamwork through student-centered and project-based teaching methods. Graduates are highly regarded both domestically and internationally, with undergraduates being accepted into prestigious universities abroad with scholarships. Students receive training in state-of-the-art laboratories to excel in their fields.
The campus includes various facilities: ATM, Bank, Football Field, Security, Cafeteria, Canteen, Stationery, Conference Hall, Library, Parking Lot, Student Dormitory, Health Center, Gym, Free Internet, On-Campus Transportation, Dining Hall, Walking Track, Swimming Pool, and an Accessible Campus.

It is too much away from the city center but the university is located in a beautiful scenery !

Infrastructure of the university is well maintained . There's a well maintained auditorium in university , where many programs are organised . University playground is really good . All necessary facilities are provided by the university. We also have wifi service on campus
