Tarsus University was initially established through the foundation of Tarsus Vocational School and Tarsus School of Health Services, which were part of Mersin University in 1992. It officially became an independent institution in 2018 in the Tarsus district of Mersin, following the transfer of units affiliated with Mersin University to Tarsus University.

It is a school that adapts the discipline of high school to university. It is not much different from high school. The teachers have unnecessary tirades, the teaching staff is terrible, absenteeism and being late to class are problems for the school. The cafeteria and the school's Internet service are very good. The school is small. If you are going to come to this school, do not expect an intellectual environment and quality education.
