"Niğde Üniversitesi" was established as an autonomous university in 1992. The university's name was changed to "Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesi" in August 2016. With a history dating back 9000 years and named after the Goddess of Abundance, Lahita, Ömer Halisdemir University has been drawing attention since 1992 due to its academic and physical development. In addition to contributing to the social, cultural, and economic development of its province and region, the university is rapidly advancing with its scientific research efforts to become one of Turkey's important centers of science.
