Afyon Kocatepe University (AKU) in Turkey is one of the country's significant educational institutions. Initially established in 1974 as faculties affiliated with Anadolu University, AKU became an independent university in 1992. As of 2021, it hosts 32,124 students, including 1,540 international students. AKU is dedicated to valuing its students and aiding in their professional development.

The university not only provides academic education but also organizes various activities, symposiums, seminars, and scientific congresses to enhance the knowledge of its students. Its central campus offers facilities that meet all the students' needs without the necessity of going to the city center and is situated near the hot springs of the region, known for its thermal tourism. Additionally, AKU has student exchange agreements under the Erasmus Plus program with countries in Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and South America.

With its expert academic staff, AKU is among the state universities with a high rate of scientific publications. It won 13 awards in the 2020 'Accessible University' awards in Turkey, including the first prize. In the UI Green Metric 2021 'green campus' evaluation, it ranked 344th worldwide and 21st among universities in Turkey. AKU is also the first state university in Turkey to have all departments accredited in the tourism faculty and boasts an accessible campus.

The campus includes facilities such as ATMs, banks, a football field, security services, cafeterias, canteens, stationeries, a conference hall, a library, parking, student dormitories, a health center, a gym, free internet, internal university transportation, a dining hall, a walking track, and a swimming pool.

Gedik Ahmet Pasha Madrasah

Gedik Ahmet Pasha Madrasah is the name given to certain locations of the Complexes that come to the present day. Madrasah, which is an important part of the Complexes, is a building made by the architect Ayaz Ağa in 1472. It was used as a museum in certain periods and remained empty during certain periods. Today, it maintains its functionality as a madrasah.

Afyon Ayazini Church

Ayazini Church, which is among the important places of worship, is a church created by carving stones. It is not known who made this church with its glamorous structures, architecture and history. The church was built by carving on the rocks and is separated from other churches by this aspect.
