ŞIRNAK

The western part of the territory of Şırnak Province is located in Dicle section of the Southeastern Anatolia region. The other half remains within the boundaries of the Eastern Anatolia region. The province is surrounded by Mardin in the west, Siirt in the north, Hakkâri in the northeast, and Iraq and Syria in the south. In Şırnak province, the climate varies according to the regions. In the high parts of the province, the harsh continental climate of Eastern Anatolia is dominant. In the other parts, continental climate is dominant.

Kırmızı Medrese (Red Madrasah)

It is thought that the Red Madrasah, located in the Dağkapı neighborhood of Cizre district, was built in the 14th century. In the courtyard of Red Madrasah, which is an ancient and historical structure, the tomb of Mela Ahmedi Ciziri is located.

Mount Cudi

It is located among the most important mountains of the South East Anatolia Region, which has an important place in Islam religion with a height of 2114 meters.

Virgin Mary Church

Virgin Mary Church, which was said to have been built in 57 AD, is thought to have been built here when the Christians first spread. Today, it is not open to worship.
