MALATYA
Malatya is located in the upper Euphrates basin of Eastern Anatolia Region and on the southwest end of Adıyaman, Malatya, Elazığ, Bingöl, Muş, Van collapse area. It is surrounded by Elazığ and Diyarbakır in the east, Adıyaman in the south, Kahramanmaraş in the west, Sivas and Erzincan in the north. Malatya Province, located in the upper Euphrates basin of Eastern Anatolia region, has hosted several settlements since the Neolithic age, due to its geographical location on historical caravan route-the famous King's Way and the Silk Road-and its rich water resources.

Aslantepe Mound
One of the biggest mounds of our country, Aslantepe Mound is located in the district of Orduza in Malatya. The sculptures found in the archaeological excavations here are exhibited in Anatolian Civilizations Museum in Ankara.
