IĞDIR

Located in Turkey's eastern border, Iğdır is one of the important cities with legendary Mount Ararat. Iğdır is located in the eastern border of Turkey, in an area where high plateaus and mountainous regions occupy large areas. According to archaeological research, the history of the province dates back to the Paleolithic age. The Silk Road, which extends from Iran to East Anatolia through Doğubayazıt, Kars, Erzurum and Erzincan, passes through Iğdır.

Salt Caves

Salt Caves located in the Tuzluca district of Iğdır are spread over a large area of 55 acres. The salts found in a very wide area are capable of meeting the salt requirements of Turkey for a hundred years.

Meteor Pit

This pit formed by the fall of a large meteor in 1892 is located within the borders of Korhan Plateau of Iğdır province. It is ranked second in terms of size and width among the pits in the world.
