ELAZIĞ
Elazığ is a province located in the upper Euphrates Basin section of the Eastern Anatolia region. Its altitude above sea level is 1067 meters. Elazığ is surrounded by Bingöl in the east, Tunceli in the north by Keban Dam Lake, Erzincan in the northwest, Malatya in the west and southwest by Karakaya Dam Lake and Diyarbakır in the south.

Church of the Virgin Mary, which is located in the east of Harput Castle, is also known as the Syriac Church, the Red Church and the Yakubi Church. Although the exact date of construction is unknown, it is estimated that it was built in 179 A.D.
