DÜZCE

Düzce is located between Ankara-Istanbul road in the western Black Sea region, surrounded by forested mountains. It is on a plain with an altitude of approximately 140 meters, connecting all of Anatolia to major centers. The province extends to Black Sea with Akçakoca Sea Road and Melen River Road in the north.  It has natural and cultural beauties and has the only ancient city of western Black Sea (Konuralp). Düzce is surrounded by Bolu in the east and south, Sakarya in the west, Zonguldak and the Black Sea in the north.

Samandere Waterfall Natural Monument

The Samandere Waterfall Natural Monument in the Central District is located in the village of Samandere. Located 26 km from the center of the city, this monument is Turkey's first registered monument.

Akçakoca Genoese Castle

It was made by the Genoese in 1226 to ensure the safety of the merchant ships. This castle, which was used as an outpost in the Ottoman period, has preserved some of the walls, the tower and the water cistern until today.
